History

HabboUpload was the first Habbo styled File Hosting site back in 2006. It started HabboUpload by Dj.dtmm from Habbo UK as a bit of fun and also to prove to someone that people would use it to host files.

Running only on just a free script HabboUpload ended up getting its own hosting due to the amount of files being uploaded. 6 months on from that, a semi-dedicated server was brought with had 70gbs of space. To follow the new server, Habboupload got it's own system coded. Start of 2009 sadly saw the closure of HabboUpload due to funding and space on the server as the users did fill the server right up to the brim, but dj.dtmm always said it would return and it was never a permanent closure!

2010 arrives, dj.dtmm and Jellybean (the 3rd ever HabboUpload staff member) had been thinking to open Habboupload in February but with dj.dtmm having lots of work on at the time a decision was made, and that was no.

February 27th, HabboUpload staff were chatting about our sister site Habboimages.com when we finally decided to get HabboUpload sorted and reopen it. Having redesigned the whole site to more of a web 2.0 look and having our own server with 2 x 160gb drives (plenty of room to swing a cat), HabboUpload was reopened on the 2nd March at 9:09pm.

The future

It really does hold a lot! HabboUpload staff have a non-habbo version of this site under construction that will also bring tones more features to HabboUpload, watch this space.
